Our compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. Job Summary:
Research Analysts are responsible for conducting due diligence and providing manager recommendations to support Mariner advisors. Analysts monitor recommended managers and strategies and source new ideas to fulfill client needs. Additionally, Analysts will conduct ad hoc research and create bespoke client deliverables to support advisor needs. Analysts are subject matter experts in their areas of coverage and provide asset class and category guidance to Mariner advisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of the overall Enterprise Investment Solutions Support function, improving methods and tools utilized
Source, research, monitor, and make recommendations on investment strategies
Communicate with investment managers to evaluate investment philosophy, process, personnel, fees, vehicles, and performance
Extract and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to help drive decision making, including review of investment strategy offering documents
Use analytical tools like TopQ+, MSCI/Burgiss, and proprietary questionnaires to assist in investment strategy due diligence
Create and maintain detailed due diligence reports and document ongoing monitoring of investment managers in CRM system, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Develop and maintain primers and educational presentations for assigned alternative asset classes and categories
Participate in preparation of agenda and materials for investment policy committee meetings
Develop and maintain quarterly and annual reporting packages as required
Develop and present research findings to investment committees, advisors and others as assigned and as needed to support institutional and wealth clients
Support asset allocation advice by maintaining opinions on assigned asset categories and preparing pacing models as assigned
Collaborate with other researchers, including through peer review of others’ work
Attend and present at some client investment reviews as needed
Required Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree in business-related field
Preferred Education and Experience:
Progress toward or completion of the CFA and/or CAIA programs
Progress toward or completion of MBA and/or other relevant professional qualifications
Investment-related experience in a professional office environment
Experience allocating to investment strategies
Skills:
Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective oral and written communication
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to multi-task, manage workload, and complete projects on time
