The Opportunity
The Business Systems Consultant is a key role within the Strategy and Execution – Wealth and Distribution Technology team. It is a critical connection between the Wealth and Distribution business partners and the IT organization. The role includes components of Project and Program Management. Main responsibilities include documenting business requirement, working across the organization to help translate into technical specification, and closely partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver business value.
The Team
The Strategy and Execution – Wealth and Distribution Technology team is an agile team of seasoned professional within the broader Wealth and Distribution Technology organization focusing on alignment to business strategy, and end-to-end execution of project and programs. We are a global team with staff in the US, India, and Romania and focus with mainly Business Systems Analysis, Project Management, and Agile roles.
The Impact:
Key Responsibilities
- SIERA New Business Reporting – Business Systems Analysis – all projects coming through this space / potentially partnering with an offshore counterpart.
- New Business Stakeholder management
- Project Management for existing projects in support of existing project leadership structure (Financial Planning, WM Proposal, PW Trust Proposal)
- Execution and Strategy – broad responsibilities (Streamline intake process across Siera, Wealth and DSP)
- Building out business acumen and leading others while delivering results / business value
The Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years business analysis experience creating business systems requirement documents, analyzing data and supporting software development from variety of production systems and data platforms
The Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or an analytical field such as Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science
- Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects and can work independently on multiple project tasks. This includes leading business analysis across multiple parallel initiatives.
- Proficient in defining business and/or systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable industry requirements. includes the ability to facilitate requirements gather sessions and document business system requirements and use cases.
- Works very closely with both business and technical stakeholders and seeks opportunities to improve the way we operate business.
- Assist other team members with understanding the business requirements and provides business analysts on the team with mentorship and coaching.
- Participate in all phases of project planning, development and testing and collaborates with business and systems experts.
- Lead analysis of business processes, procedures, data and rules
- May provide oversight of overall quality of work product
- Negotiate and influence requirements direction
- Lead/consult on escalated support issues and root cause analysis
- Ability to influence peers, leaders and business customers
- Skilled in problem solving and technical analysis
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective relationship building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have short to long-term focus
- Assist with and implementing agile practices that promote collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with BI tools / reporting
- Data analysis experience preferred
- Database/SQL experience/SQL expertise preferred
- Knowledge of ETL and Datawarehouse concepts and processes preferred

Salary Range:
$99,800.00-$131,000.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees.
