Project Manager, MSSP

The Project Manager on Rapid7’s MSSP team is responsible for planning, executing, and completing projects to advance the success of Rapid7’s fast-growing MSSP business.

About the Team

As a strategic group under Rapid7’s Chief Business Officer, the MSSP Team is on a mission to build the world’s leading Security Operations platform for Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). Responsible for a core pillar of Rapid7’s corporate strategy, Rapid7’s MSSP team works cross-functionally to guide the development of new product capabilities, business systems, and operational processes that attract and retain MSSP partners, thus growing a crucial part of Rapid7’s business.

About the Role

As a key member of a high-profile team, you will align key stakeholders with business objectives and project goals, guiding teams from across the organization to deliver projects from conception to completion. The consistent project management processes that you implement will result in clearly defined project goals and accountability across the project team. Through continuous tracking of project progress, risks, and results, you will help ensure the continuous advancement of Rapid7’s MSSP business.

In this role, you will:

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders

• Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress

• Coordinate internal resources across the organization towards project execution

• Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, while managing changes to timelines when necessary

• Advise leadership on impacts of project changes and/or reprioritization of initiatives

• Measure project progress, risks, blockers, and outcomes by implementing standardized processes

• Report and escalate issues to stakeholders and leadership as needed

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

The skills you’ll bring include:

• 8+ years of experience in project or program management

• Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies

• Experience working across organizations advocating for internal team's needs

• Experience building and implementing large-scale business processes

• Experience helping teams scope projects and build functional requirements

• Experience with general project/product/program management methodologies

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
