Overview
Stirling Brandworks is a growing digital agency that partners with a broad range of fun and engaging clients to build end-to-end digital technology and marketing strategies. We carry big-picture ideas all the way through future-ready websites/microsites, marketing communications, social media programs, and/or custom technical solutions to meet our clients’ emerging business needs.
We’re looking for a Group Account Director to manage a portfolio of accounts and personnel, ensuring a tiered account model. These accounts will vary across our roster of clients. Our client roster includes some industry innovators, both big and small, both B2B and B2C, and you’d be helping lead some of those client relationships.
What we're looking for in a Group Account Director:
- Partner with clients to increase their marketing effectiveness through content, social, digital, and other marketing strategies. Turn strategy into integrated, thoughtful, well-coordinated ongoing programs that support our client’s growth.
- Build close relationships with the highest priority accounts, supporting delivery while working to identify and pursue other opportunities we can support.
- Understand the brand strategy and marketing/business goals for every client, analyzing where they may need our support to elevate their digital marketing strategy. Devise an end-to-end digital marketing strategy for each of them and lead the conversation with them to explore ROI-based marketing partnerships with them.
- Mentor and manage a team of account managers, developing professional development (PD) goals, coaching on tough conversations, managing escalations, and ensuring an outstanding client experience. Manage monthly/quarterly account forecasting and oversee other account managers' performance.
- Organize and run annual brand planning sessions, quarterly business reviews, and monthly tactical work plans to achieve results. Outline quarterly & yearly goals against account portfolio; track and report performance on growth quarterly.
- Oversee a client opportunity analysis (Matrix View) identifying other types of work we could position within an account; own entire sales process for each opportunity; full sales cycle (scoping, contract writing, negotiation, developing, and briefing the project team).
- Review and categorize “active” and “dormant” accounts into defined tiers (strategic, growth, transactional, etc.); this process repeats at a minimum annually & when new accounts are introduced.
- Participate as needed in agency pitch meetings and provide sales support for the agency, preparing presentations, sample work projects, and whatever else we need to demonstrate our ability to serve our clients well.
Key Qualifications
- We hope you’ll have approximately 5+ years of experience in managing a team of client services professionals and 15+ years of client services experience, preferably at a small-to-mid-sized agency. This includes agency experience with performance marketing, including media management and lead generation.
- We look to you to be a self-starter; to figure out the unmet need and create a solution for it, to champion ideas, and to stay at the forefront of the digital ecosystem.
- We need you to have a high level of “presence” who can think on your feet in complex strategy and customer service conversations.
- We’d like you to be the kind of person who keeps everyone informed, can communicate clearly and collaboratively, and is already ahead of issues/problems with an idea for the resolution.
- We’re a digital agency so it goes without saying that you have to love and be fluent in technology - (internally: Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Slack, etc.; with clients: all things digital, with major bonus points if you’re a ninja around WordPress, marketing automation platforms, email marketing, Adobe Suite and anything SEO or AdWords related).
- We require that you’re a team player, a glass-is-full kind of person, and someone for whom no task is ever too small if it helps out the team or a client.
