As our Director, Media, you will…
Be the driving force in shaping innovative media strategies for our clients! As a leader in media planning and execution, you'll bring fresh ideas and forward-thinking solutions to navigate the ever-evolving media landscape. With your expertise in digital media channels and strategic thinking, you'll craft integrated campaigns that exceed client expectations. Be Accountable and Responsible
- Primary client contact on key business assignments
- Oversee the development, execution, and optimization of the media planning process
- Help your team analyze data and strategic input that informs channel allocation recommendations
- Lead your team in writing and presenting effective recommendations and proactive POVs internally and externally
- Meet with media partners to understand the media landscape and act as the channel expert for your clients
- Work with analytics partners to help clients prove out success of your plans
- Lead Media Supervisors, Media Planners and Associates, and Buying Specialists while reporting to the agency’s EVP, Media Director
- Assess and recommend software, tools, and resource needs for the department
These are the qualifications we’re looking for
- 10+ years of strategic media planning experience, specifically in the life sciences (pharma, medical device, biotech) space
- Experience working with life sciences data providers (IQVIA, PurpleLabs), media publishers (both endemic and programmatic), and well versed in the industry “best practices” (e.g., NPI-level trafficking, implications of black box warnings on creative and media approaches)
- A proven track record in bringing innovative solutions to clients
- Knowledge of all paid media channels including digital media (programmatic, endemic, EHR, social platforms such as Doximity or Sermo, connected TV, and search)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate and present complex ideas in a simple, smart way
- Strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to consider unconventional ideas when recommending solutions
- Highly proficient in Google Workspace
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work under pressure to deliver high-quality work within time timelines
Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000
Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training, and experience. MERGE’s career ladders reflect department growth from Associate through Partner levels, with details of roles and responsibilities associated with each level. New hires are assigned a job level within a particular position based on these criteria and salary is set within the job level based on these criteria. Growth from one level to the next occurs when employees master their role and are promoted to the next level, generally during salary review cycles which are posted in the employee handbook.
