Property Tax Analyst

Summary:

Property Tax Analyst will thoroughly review landlords' property tax billings and store leases to ensure that the company is being charged properly. Prepare and timely file all necessary tax returns and payments. Review and recommend solutions to resolve tax billings. Candidate must have strong verbal and written Communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills. Provide additional support to manager when needed.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Review landlord real estate tax billings.

Review leases, pro-rata shares and tenant lists to ensure tax billing accuracy.

Provide solutions to tax billing problems.

Pay real estate and personal property tax bills in a timely manner.

Communicates with Landlords to investigate various inquiries, as well as solve Landlord disputes.

Works with Real Estate, Legal and other internal departments as needed to resolve issues.

Provide assistance on other Property tax related projects as required.

Forecasts and accruals

Gather and summarize comparable property information to assist manager with tax appeals on various properties.

Review store valuation increases.

Prepare analysis to determine if an appeal is warranted

Experience/Requirements

1-3 years of Property Tax or related auditing, accounting, real estate property management experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Real Estate

Property tax knowledge training or classes is a plus

Must possess the ability to independently interpret Leases, evaluate Lease terms and process payments according to the Lease.

Assessing background a plus along with real estate lease experience

Understanding of state and local laws of property tax regulations

Ability to research and familiarize with a variety of procedures indifferent jurisdictions

Ability to tactfully address tax disputes

Comfortable with data technology

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytic skills

Knowledge of basic real estate leasing (property administration or lease administration)
